High School Programs

High School Programs 


The Greater Michigan Construction Academy offers programs to high school junior and senior students in both the Saginaw Township and Midland School Districts. The programs offered vary by school district. See below for details.

Midland County
Classes being offered for the 2016-17 school year include the following trades: Carpentry | Electrical | HVAC | Welding


  • Students will receive a nationally recognized credential upon the completion of the 2-year program.
  • Cost for the program as offered to non-high school students ranges from $9,000 - $11,000 over a four year period of training (same curriculum covered in the 2-year high school, day-time training, costs paid through local school district).
  • Classes will take place at the GMCA Midland Training Center from 7:30 am - 9:30 am.

Prerequisites to enroll in the program are:
•  Junior or Senior currently enrolled in a Midland County High School
•  Interest in starting a career in the construction trades
•  Desire and willingness to learn.

Saginaw Township
Electrical trade classes are being offered for the 2016-17 school year.


  • Students will receive a nationally recognized credential upon the completion of the 2-year program.
  • Cost for the program as offered to non-high school students ranges from $9,000 - $11,000 over a four year period of training (same curriculum covered in the 2-year high school, day-time training, costs paid through local school district).
  • Classes will take place at Mackinaw High School from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
  • No cost to students participating in Saginaw/GMCA dual-enrollment program.

Prerequisites to enroll in the program are:
•  Junior or Senior currently enrolled in a Saginaw County High School
•  Interest in starting a career in the construction trades
•  Desire and willingness to learn.
